After graduating in 1987 from the University of South Florida with a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and a Minor in Marketing and Finance, Gary worked in the Securities Arena. While pursuing this field, Gary became involved in the beach volleyball scene and traveled playing on the different amateur circuits.
In 1988, the opportunity arose for Gary to become a partner in a company that was involved in the producing volleyball tournaments and thus a new career direction was born. Soon after, Gary started his own event marketing & promotions company, Sand Club Promotions.
In 1991, a full service sports marketing company in south Florida, Exclusive Sports Marketing approached Gary about helping a beginning Florida Bud Light Beach Volleyball Series get started. Gary, excited for the challenges, merged Sand Club Promotions and joined the ESM crew and worked his way up the corporate ladder to become the General Manager and Vice President in 1998.
After 11 years with Exclusive Sports Marketing, Gary was ready for a new chapter in his life, So in 2002, he resigned his position with ESM and married Kelly and took some time to enjoy the married life.
In 2003, Gary took a position in his hometown of St. Petersburg with the St. Petersburg/Clearwater Convention & Visitors Bureau as the Special Events Manager. This newly created position was responsible for developing and growing the many special events that took place in Pinellas County.
In 2004, after a year and a half with the CVB, Gary decided to follow his passion and utilize his talents and knowledge in the marketing and promotions field. Thus, Tsunami Marketing was created to help special events reach their greatest potential.
Today, Tsunami Marketing has grown into a respected company with a proven track record for helping numeous clients generate and maximize their potential. Tsunami Marketing continues to grow and service clients with out of the box strategies.
